Treacle Bread

Ingredients

  • 500 gr Strong wholemeal bread flour (or wholemeal spelt flour)
  • 25 gr Butter
  • 2 tsp Dried yeast (7gr or 1 sachet)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 300 ml Tepid water
  • 2 tbsp Treacle (brown)

Instructions

  • Mix flour and salt together. Rub in butter. Mix in yeast. Add treacle and stir in with water.
  • Knead for 5 minutes on a high setting in the electric mixer
  • Prove in warm place for 70 minutes
  • Fill dough in a loaf form and bake at 200C for 40 minutes until it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom
